Public Works & Services Safety – Duties & Responsibilities
Press Release
2013
All organisations require the participants to be aware of, acknowledge and contribute to the successful running of the organisation. By understanding and implementing their WHS duties and responsibilities, everyone will have a positive impact on the organisation and their fellow workers. Pro-Visual Publishing’s newest edition of the National Guide to Public Works & Services Safety is aimed to help achieve this awareness, and contribute to the safety and wellbeing of all involved in the Public Works & Services Industry.
Endorsed and written by the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia, the National Guide to Public Works & Services Safety 2013/14 provides industry members and managers with advice and information on the duties and responsibilities of all in the workplace. Other topics highlighted within the guide include the processes involved for electing a WHS Representative, Traffic Management and dealing with Drugs & Alcohol on worksites.
A safe workplace is more easily achieved when everyone involved in the work communicates with each other to identify hazards and risks, talks about any health and safety concerns and works together to find solutions. This includes co-operation between the people who manage or control the work and those who carry out the work or who are affected by the work.
“I would like to thank all of the sponsors of the National Guide to Public Works & Services Safety 2013/14. Their support has made it possible for the guide to be distributed free of charge”, said John Hutchings, CEO, Pro-Visual Publishing.
